Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the International Committee, it is my pleasure to send you the first announcement of the 7th International Conference ‘INTERFACES AGAINST POLLUTION' (IAP2012), to be held in Nancy (France) on 11-14th June, 2012.

The conference seeks to provide a forum for researchers working in the interdisciplinary field of Environmental Science with, as a main focus, the importance of biotic and abiotic colloids-interfaces in natural environments, both from fundamental and applied perspectives. IAP2012 is not only intended for scientists working in the fields of environmental physical chemistry and environmental microbiology. It also offers researchers the opportunity to present their recent work on topics of societal concerns like environmental protection, remediation of polluted sites, optimization of mineral resources and impacts of nanotechnology residues on the environment. In addition, specific sessions will be devoted to cover progress in the use and development of synchrotron-based equipments for understanding nano/micro-scale processes at environmental particles or interfaces.
